UIS Democrat and Republican leaders live together… again!

Bipartisanship can be hard to find, but at the University of Illinois Springfield it’s easy to spot. For the second year in a row, the chairman of the College Republicans and president of the College Democrats live in the same townhouse, but that’s not all! The secretaries of both organizations are also roommates in Lincoln Residence Hall.

The postprofessional program in the Krannert School of Physical Therapy offers graduate certificates and academic master’s and doctoral degrees designed to provide practicing physical therapists with the necessary tools to advance skills and knowledge, as well as expand career opportunities. Kaplan University Graduate Ellen Hallett on Working Where Your Heart Is

December 2011 Commencement

Lewis University awarded three honorary degrees at the December Commencement Ceremonies December 17-18, recognizing the achievements of Brother Michael Quirk, FSC, President and CEO of Christian Brothers Services and President Emeritus of De La Salle Institute; Honorable Ray H. LaHood, United States Secretary of Transportation and a former Illinois Congressman and Sister Mary Paul McCaughey, O.P., Superintendent of Schools for the Archdiocese of Chicago.

These three doctoral degree recipients were honored along with 735 graduates who were awarded degrees throughout the weekend’s ceremonies. A double alumnus of Lewis University, Brother Michael was honored at the Commencement Ceremony for Graduate Students on Saturday, December 17. In honoring Brother Michael, Lewis University will also be recognized the 50th Anniversary of the Christian Brothers Services.

The Graduate Degree Ceremony began at 10 a.m. on Saturday and was followed by the President’s Reception for Graduates and Guests, hosted by Brother James Gaffney, FSC, President. Dr. Michele Kramer, Assistant Professor of Nursing presented the faculty address.

The Sunday, December 18 Ceremony for Undergraduates began with the Baccalaureate Mass at 9:00 a.m. in the Field House, celebrated by Most Rev. Francis J. Kane, Auxiliary Bishop of Chicago, followed by a continental breakfast for graduates and guests. The Undergraduate Degree Ceremony began at 11:30 a.m. and honorary degrees were presented to Sister Mary Paul and Secretary LaHood.

As a Veterinary Technician, you work under the supervision of a licensed veterinarian to provide care for animals.
